Sony will take on the Huawei Mate X and the Samsung Galaxy Fold with a rollable device.

Sony is believed to be working on a competitor to the Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X.

Foldable smartphones are all the rage these days as several smartphone brands are showing off their devices. With these type of smartphones expected to go mainstream in April, certain unforeseen issues have halted its official debut. Because of this prolonged delay, several other brands are taking up the mantle to show off their own products. The latest brand that has seeped out of the woodwork is Sony and in a bid to prove that its smartphone business isn’t dead, they are rumoured to be building a new take on the foldable smartphone — a rollable handset.

As per a tweet by Max J, Sony is believed to be working on a competitor to the Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X and the prototype device will come with flagship-grade specifications. The handset will feature a Snapdragon 855 chipset and the X50 modem chip. The handset is expected to be built along with the ‘Nautilus design’ principles. Other notable features include an LG rollable display, a 3220mAh battery, 10x Zoom camera and more.
