iPhone X: Top Selling Smartphone in China

The sale of the phones has reportedly provided a boost its OS share in several markets.

Despite of its high price, iPhone X recorded terrific sales in Europe, Japan, Australia, and the United States as well.

While there are a lot of speculations in the market about the future of iPhoneX and a dip in its production; Apple has definitely got a reason to be happy. According to data provided by Kantar, the performance of iPhoneX has been overwhelming in China and Japan; both considered to be the largest and most evolving markets in terms of electronics, in the world.

The report also stated that the data collected indicates that the smartphone in was one of the three best-selling smartphones in Europe, Japan, Australia, and the United States and went on to become the best-seller in Chinese markets in December 2017. The sale of the phones has reportedly provided a boost its OS share in several markets.

Dominic Sunnebo, Global Director for Kantar commented on the report by saying, “The full results for the last quarter of the year show that Apple’s decision to release three new handsets over a staggered period, including the ultra high-end iPhone X, has been a sound one. With Apple’s existing release structure, expectations would always be that the flagship model would be the top selling device in key developed markets, but with the premium price of iPhone X, real life affordability has come into play. Given that in December iPhone X made it into the top three best-selling devices across all key regions, particularly in urban China where it was the top selling model, the pricing strategy seems to have been vindicated.”
