Chennai: You can continue to use BSNL’s Work@Home broadband plan till May 19, the telecom and internet service provider has announced.

An image posted on Twitter by the official account of the Tamil Nadu circle of BSNL showed that the Work@Home broadband plan is available till May 19.

BSNL landline users who opt for the plan get up to 5GB data daily at a speed of 10 Mbps, after which the speed falls to 1Mbps.

The validity of the broadband plan, when it was introduced in March, specifically to cater to the needs of thousands of employees who had to begin working from home since the lockdown started on March 25, was earlier set to expire on April 14, NDTV reported.

The extension came following the government’s decision to extend the lockdown till May 3, and perhaps keep several restrictions in place even after that.

If you have a BSNL landline, you can still apply for the plan by contacting the toll-free number 1800-345-1504. You won’t have to pay a security deposit or monthly charges, you will only be charged as usual for your landline plan.
