Google has updated Google Maps with a new feature for iOS this week. This new feature adds three new menus — ‘Explore,’ ‘Driving’ and ‘Transit’ at the bottom of the home screen in the app.

The purpose of the app is for quick access to local restaurant or commuting information.

This Android version of this feature was launched a year ago.

This new iOs feature will function similar to the android version. Information such as places to eat or drink, traffic times for commuting, ATM's, train and bus schedule will be displayed on the panes.

Users can swipe up and expand the menus for a detailed look.
