Popular social media platform Instagram has finally rolled out as feature most users have waited for with baited breaths, in India.

Popular social media platform Instagram has finally rolled out as feature most users have waited for with baited breaths, in India.

And that is, Instagram Music.

Famed for letting users upload photos or videos along with background tracks of their choice, in accordance with the mood or the aesthetic, Instagram Music rolled out in the US in 2018.  Today, it became available in India with the updated 110.0.0.16.119 version of the app. You can check the version of your application or even better, get yourself the update through Google Playstore or the App store for iOS users.

To use the feature, one needs only to swipe right on their apps after opening, and create a story using a photo or just text. Following this, swipe up to where the stickers for stories are usually present and select the newly added ‘Music’ option.  For adding music to a video, the option shall appear next to the video recording button and has to be pre-decided.

From there you can select the track you would like to add to your story, which are available on a range of genres like Punjabi, pop, rock and so on.

You can even select the segment you would want to be featured, by making use of a slider on your screen. Lyrics shall also appear, whose fonts and sizes you can also choose from.

An awaited feature, this is currently only available for Instagram stories of users.

Meanwhile, its parent company has also gotten a bit creative on their side. In March, news had emerged that Facebook had partnered with Yash Raj Films, T-Series Music, Zee Music Company to let users add music to their posts. It appears now that this has finally been put to use. Earlier today, it rolled out features like Lip Sync Live, Facebook Music and adding a track on Facebook profiles.
