Be more mentor than the teacher by turning traditional lecture-based instruction on its head. These five flipped classroom platforms, help students gain new knowledge at home so that they can come to class ready to put it to use. The resources in this list have everything from interactive lesson apps and instructional videos to whiteboard apps --help teachers create, curate, and deliver content that students can experience at their own pace, freeing up classroom time for clarification, exploration, and creation.

Nearpod- Teachers can use Nearpod to support student learning in a variety of ways. Give students opportunities for interaction and immediate feedback by having them draw on a map or diagram, respond to a poll question, post a note or image to a collaboration board, or take a multiple-choice quiz. Bring the world to the classroom by taking kids on a virtual field trip to a national park or a different country. Help students review key learning concepts by watching videos, reviewing notes, or taking their own notes. Let kids design their own slideshows and teach each other. Incorporate social and emotional learning (SEL) and digital citizenship skills with pre-created lessons on empathy, cyberbullying, or Internet safety.

NextLearningPlatform- The academic sub-platform of NextLearningPlatform is a combination of relevant tools that cover the length and breadth of the entire teaching-learning gamut. This comprehensive platform empowers educators to create and manage the course plan and effectively deliver it across classrooms. The embedded tracking tools provide detailed reports of the progress made and the deviations encountered. This encourages teachers and students to take remedial actions and achieve learning objectives. The in-house developed product NextLMS builds lesson plans and automatically syncs them with the predefined timetable and addresses each student’s knowledge gaps with personalised content delivery. It also allows the facilitators to incorporate their own ideas in the provided solution to bring the best learning outcome for students and promotes flip learning.

Remind- Use Remind to efficiently reinforce communication systems you already have in place. In addition to a class blog, learning management system, or student agendas, you can send or schedule a text message (including attachments) to remind students and families about important due dates, upcoming tests and quizzes, schedule changes, field trips, or other pertinent information. You can also use it to extend encouraging messages before or after exams or tests, or even before a day with a substitute teacher.

Byju’s: The Byju’s app features unique learning journeys, actionable feedback, recommendations, and guided paths. The learning journeys for each student will be determined based on their capabilities and proficiency levels and is personalised according to their needs. It serves visual and personalized educational content mainly to school students from classes 4 to 12 (primary to higher secondary level education).

Edupuzzle- Start out with Edpuzzle using video for the purpose of pre-teaching, perhaps pairing videos with text in any content area where students might need scaffolding or supports. Use the voice-over feature to add a few quick checks to read-aloud videos to engage and support struggling readers, introducing vocabulary words (pronunciation, meaning, synonyms) along the way. For math centers, record yourself teaching a concept, and have the kids stop for practice and submit their answers. Want to flip your flipped classroom? Let kids use the tool to create a video lesson, and choose some of the best for their peers to complete on their own. Then, go into depth in class to expand upon what students learned from remixing their videos.
