Data from a research firm indicates that there has been a steep drop-off in sales for the Apple Watch.

About two-thirds of Apple Watch sales came from the entry-level Sport variant.

After what may be an uptick of sales for the Apple Watch, sales have now experienced a rapid drop-off as per a report by Slice Intelligence, a Californian market research firm. In June, it was reported that Apple sold an average of 14,500 smartwatches a day with sales dropping off as the month went on. The data available in the last seven days, between June 25 to July 1 showed that Apple sold about 4,600 watches a day.

The market research firm projects that Apple sold about 1.32 million Apple Watches on its first day of availability which was April 10. In the next 20 days of April, Apple sales averaged around 26,900 sales per day. Slice claims that Apple had sold around 2.97 million as of July 1 and the total revenue earned USD 1.19 billion.

As per a related report by Investors, “The Apple Watch is likely to provide a nice incremental boost to Apple's sales and earnings in the June quarter. But the big question has always been: What is the market for the wearable device beyond the Apple fanatics willing to buy any first-generation Apple gadget?”

It comes as no surprise that about two-thirds of Apple Watch sales came from the entry-level Sport variant. Apple also sells mid-range models and luxury Watches as well. Slice has gathered this data by collecting electronic recipients that have been sent to users after purchases.
