The five-a-side tournament will comprise of competition in three categories — the men’s open, the women’s and the veteran men.

Eight women teams, including both Central Railway and Western Railway, have confirmed their participation.

The Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana will be organising their annual Victor D’Mello Memorial Trophy rink hockey tournament from April 3 to 7. The five-a-side tournament will comprise of competition in three categories — the men’s open, the women’s and the veteran men.

This is a knockout tournament and each match will be played over a 20-minute duration for women and veterans and for a 25-minute duration for men. Defending champions Ave Maria SC, runners-up Mumbai Customs, Central Railway, Western Railway, Bombay Republicans, Companeroes SC, Sea View SC, Hockey Santacruz, UK United  and Jablonsky SC are some of the top clubs that will fight for top honours in the men’s competition.

Eight women teams, including both Central Railway and Western Railway, have confirmed their participation. The veteran’s event will comprise of four teams. The city’s top players will be seen in action in the tourney.
