Kunal Patel rallied  brilliantly after trailing 0-2 to turn the tables on third seeded  Maanav Shah to storm into the  junior boys singles pre-quarterfinals  of the  MCF-4 Star All -Mumbai ranking tournament in Borivali. Kunal was quite erratic initially  and this helped  Maanav to jump to 2-0 in quick time. However, Kunal after a peptalk from his coach, tightened his game to run away with a 8-11, 4-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-6 scoreline.

Aadil Anand, the top seeded in the sub-junior singles, had an impressive outing as he notched up two fine straight games wins in both the junior as well as in the sub-junior singles events. Aadil beat Kshitij Chikane 11-2, 11-9, 11-5 in the juniors and routed Parth Dake 11-3. 11-3, 11-3 in the sub-junior singles. Another boy to catch the eye in the junior boys singles was  14-year-old Arnav Karnavar, who is seeded fourth in the sub-junior section. He matched his rival Maruti Kasture stroke for stroke before he triumphed 11-7, 9-11, 15-13, 8-11, 11-9 in a ding dong battle.
