Fancied Jindal Squash Academy wins Hyatt Regency crown

Fancied Jindal Squash Academy came up with perfect strategies and the right combination to sideline Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana (JVPG) Club by a close 3-2 margin in the final of the Hyatt Regency - Mumbai Inter-Club Squash League 2018, organised by the Indian Squash Professionals and played at the Hyatt Regency courts.

The Jindal Academy team, which trailed 1-2, won both the singles ties and the final doubles rubber as they recovered to clinch a deserving victory and emerge champions.

Abhishek Agarwal provided Jindal Academy a great start when he defeated Araash Mehta 11-8, 11-4 in the first rubber. But Jindal were unable to maintain the winning momentum and lost the next two rubbers, both doubles matches. Deepak Mandal and Rajiv Gupta lost to Bhavesh Shah and Urwashi Joshi 11-5, 2-11, 6-11 and JVPG leveled scores at 1-all. JVPG went on to pocket the third rubber when their doubles pair of Aishwary Singh and Shashi Pandey got the better of Abhishek Agarwal and Puneet Pareek 6-11, 11-6, 11-10 to put their team in front at 2-1.

The final tie was a doubles affair and the Jindal combination of Pradeep Chaudhary and Sandeep Paswan overcame a strong fight from Amitpal Kohli and Ashish Mehta 7-11, 11-10, 11-7 to clinch the match
