Cyclothon's 2nd promo ride tries to spread green message

Cyclists from various groups across Mumbai came forward to complete their first 100-km ride to spread awareness about the importance of reducing carbon footprint and maintaining an environmental balance.

India’s Premier Cyclothon, the Saksham Cyclothon Mumbai 2018, is an initiative by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the aegis of the Union ministry of petroleum and natural gas along with Oil & Gas PSUs and Maximus MICE and Media Solutions.

The second promo ride took place today from Mulund toll station at Eastern Express Highway to Vikhroli Flyover.

The theme for this week’s promo ride was ‘Wheels of Balance’. More than

180 cyclists from Powai Pedals, Ghatkopar Cycling Club, Mulund Riders and the Mumbai Express Racing groups completed their first 100 km in cycling to reduce carbon footprint and maintain environmental balance.

The enthusiastic riders came in large number to support the cause and enjoy a Sunday morning ride with fellow cycling aficionados. The route took five main loops of 20 km to return to the end point, successfully accomplishing the ride.

The Saksham Cyclothon Mumbai, which is scheduled to take place on February 25, will create awareness on fuel conservation by promoting the use of cycles for short distances and to contribute to a better environment by reducing the carbon footprint and leading a healthier lifestyle.
