Pune’s Vignesh Sanghvi breezed past teammate Yogesh Lohiya 3-0 (100-16, 100-97 and 100-26) to also progress to the main draw.

Mumbai’s upcoming talent Rayaan Razmi and Sumehr Mago of Khar Gymkhana won their respective second round matches to qualify for the main draw of the Senior Billiards event of the Maharashtra State Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg-1) Championship 2018 played at the Poona Club and Deccan Gymkhana.

Radio Club’s Rayaan, Maharashtra’s junior number one ranked billiards player, warmed up nicely by compiling a 45 break in the opening frame and went on to outplay Tahaa Khan of Pune 3-0 (100-68, 100-67 and 103-92), in the , race to 100 points best of five frames encounter.

Khar Gymkhana’s Sumehr also enjoyed a good roll of the balls and outshone Pune’s Satish Karad coasting to a 3-0 (100-69, 100-66 and 100-60) victory.

Vishal Gehani and Amit Sapru both from Park Club also qualified for the main phase of the competition. Gehani defeated Pune’s Ashok Meena (Pune) 3-0 100-20, 101-15, 102-49), while Sapru got the better of another Pune cueist Jaideep Mehta 3-0 (100-26, 100-55, 100-63) in other second round matches.
