Mumbai:  South Africa spinner Imran Tahir is on the verge of breaking a new record ahead of the New Zealand vs South Africa match on Wednesday.

Tahir currently stands at 37 wickets. He has taken eight wickets in five matches so far in the tournament and has already beaten South African players Pollock, Morkel and Dale Steyn, who had to be sent back from the squad after an injury.

Now, standing only one wicket away from Allan Donald’s record of 38 international wickets, Tahir will be keen on adding to his tally today.

South Africa will also be looking forward to beat New Zealand and take revenge of the defeat they faced in the 2015 World Cup Semi Final.

South Africa currently stand on eighth position on the points table having lost three of their five games, with one washout and one win against last place Afghanistan.

New Zealand meanwhile, have been successful so far in the tournament, being unbeaten in all their four matches so far, with one Washout against India.
