Mumbai: Australia retained the Ashes, with all-round performances coming from their bowlers and star batsman Steve Smith who scored 211 along an 82 in the second innings.

Meanwhile, Australian bowlers Pat Cummins bagged seven wickets in each innings, Josh Hazlewood scalped six, and Mitchell Starc, who was the leading wicket-taker in the 2019 World Cup, claimed four.  

After Australia set England a daunting target of 383, the Three Lions lost two early wickets from the bowling of Pat Cummins. Following the fall of two wickets, England Test skipper Joe Root walked in to save his team.
