Payyade SC trump Kurla SC, declared winner of title

It was some stubborn batting from skipper Ayush Jethwa, whose 109 from 210 balls with 15 boundaries denied Kurla the much-needed win.

On the final day, Payyade were 197 for 7 and were declared champions after having better quotient (28.14).

Payyade Sports Club clinched the boys Under-14 CPCC cricket tournament on Saturday, as they were declared winner after having the better quotient. Invited to bat first, Kurla SC were bundled out for 232 runs in a two-day final held at Sainath CC in Virar. 

However, it was some stubborn batting from skipper Ayush Jethwa, whose 109 from 210 balls with 15 boundaries denied Kurla the much-needed win. 

On the final day, Payyade were 197 for 7 and were declared champions after having better quotient (28.14). For Kurla CC, Aayush Iyer bagged five wickets.
