Tulsi Kumar Favourite music album: Bombay
Tulsi Kumar Favourite music album: Bombay
I have grown up during the ’90s, which was a great time for music. I would personally recommend Bombay as a great album to listen to. As a kid, I always listened to the tracks Humma Humma, Kehna Hi Kya and Tu Hi Re on my way back from school. Even today, I never tire of these songs and continue to liten to Bombay’s OST on loop. Tulsi Kumar is a playback singer.
Tanishaa Mukerji Favourite play: Singin’ in the Rain by Robert Carsen I like interactive plays since they turn out to be quite an experience for the audience. Robert Carsen’s adaptation of the classic, Singin’ in the Rain is one such play. The audience members were given umbrellas when the cast was getting wet in the ‘rain’. The musical also reproduces the film’s dialogue from the 1952 movie musical of the same name, which makes it more special. Tanishaa is an actress
Gautam Gulati Favourite film: 3 Idiots 3 Idiots is my all-time favourite film. Though the film deals with love, relationships and career choices, not for a moment does it sound preachy. I have watched the film five times in the theatre. In fact, even today, I never miss the film when it airs on television. The movie is a right blend of comedy, romance, drama and real life lessons — it’s got just about everything that you look for in an entertaining film. Gautam is an actor
Naomi Dutta Favourite book: Piccadilly Jim by P.G. Wodehouse I love Piccadilly Jim by P.G. Wodehouse. I read this book almost 15 years back and of course it was funny — but it was also unexpectedly one of the most romantic books I have read. The relationship between Jim and Ann and the last two pages where he sets out the future of their relationship made me slightly weak-kneed. It is also one of those rare books that both my husband and I like, even though we have very disparate reading tastes. Naomi Datta is an author
Devika Bhise Favourite TV show:Veep There are two shows that I would recommend — Veep and Silicon Valley — since I don’t think I can choose between the two. Both the shows have witty writing and actors who do complete justice to the script. While Veep mocks the American Government, Silicon Valley ridicules the tech industry in California. Both the shows are satirical, and bring to light the pitfalls in these two worlds. These two shows have got funnier with each season so I always look forward to what they have to offer. Devika Bhise shared the screen with Dev Patel in The Man Who Knew Infinity Perzen Patel Favourite cuisine: Parsi If there was one cuisine that I would recommend, it would have to be Parsi fare. Parsi food is a beautiful amalgamation of English, Persian and Gujarati cuisine. In fact, I grew up thinking that all families around the world only had kebabs for Sunday breakfast, since it is the only dish that I have had for the first nine years of my life! Their food is telling of all the places they have lived and prospered in — right from Persia to Gujarat, and even Britain to an extent. Perzen Patel is food blogger and entrepreneur
