Mumbai: Well known for her philanthropic activities and her presence as a notable socialite in India, Parmeshwar Godrej, wife of Godrej group chairman Adi Godrej, bid adieu to the world on Monday night.
After suffering from lung diseases for a long time, the 70-year-old passed away at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. She was receiving treatment for a lung disease and doctors also suspected pneumonia.
Parmeshwar Godrej was well known for promoting AIDS awareness through Heroes Project launched in 2002 alongside actor Richard Gere. She was also known for her association with the likes of Pakistani politician turned cricketer Imran Khan and American talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
Celebrities and politicians including Imran Khan and Milind Deora took to Twitter to offer their condolences on the death of the woman associated with philanthropy and the fashion world.
