Bose vs Mamata

The Bharatiya Janata Party has played its trump card by projecting Chandra Kumar Bose, grandnephew of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, as its candidate for the Bhawanipur Assembly constituency to take on West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee. The BJP won only two Lok Sabha seats from West Bengal in 2014 and lost all 289 seats that it contested in the 2011 Assembly elections. It is hoped that Mr Bose will make the BJP’s presence felt in a state where it has minimal presence.
