Tutor refuses to delete nude pics, girl ends life

A teenager allegedly committed suicide after her tuition teacher, who she was in love with, refused to delete pictures she had sent him. The Ghatkopar police on Wednesday registered a FIR and arrested the tuition teacher, identified as Shambo Madeshiya (22).

The 17-year-old girl, a science student, hung herself to death on the night of July 30 while other family members were sleeping. She was found hanging from a ceiling fan by her father the next morning. No sooner, he collapsed and so did other members of her family.

According to police officials, a day after she committed suicide, her father started searching her books, phone, emails, to know the reason behind her extreme step. He chanced upon a mobile recording of a conversation between her tuition teacher and her.

“In the recording, the girl could be heard pleading her teacher to delete her nude photo that she had sent him a week ago else she would commit suicide. The girl’s parents immediately approached us and we registered an FIR against the tuition teacher. We have arrested him from his home in Thane under IPC section 306, for abetment of suicide,” said Vyakat Patil, Senior PI of Ghatkopar police station.

Apparently, the girl and her teacher were in a relationship for the past few months and the girl had asked him to delete the pictures as she suspected he might misuse them. Ghatkopar police has arrested the tuition teacher

He used to give the girl computer lessons at the classes in Ghatkopar that she attended.

“We have recovered recordings from the girl’s mobile and details of the tuition teacher’s phone number. We have seized his mobile phone and some diaries,” said police.
