A 17-year-old college student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself on a pole in a secluded place at the Hanging Gardens in Walkeshwar on Sunday. The police has ruled out the possibility of foul play. The reason behind the incident is still not known, as no suicide note was found. Interestingly, a diary of the boy was found at the spot, which had the sketch of a boy sitting with a girl. Officials are now investigating a possible love-affair angle that led to the boy’s suicide, and also questioning the friends of the deceased. The deceased has been identified as Habib Kadawala, a resident of Arab Galli, Nagpada. According to the police, on Sunday morning, a local informed the police that a boy was hanging from a pole at a secluded place in the Hanging Gardens. Earlier, a nursery house was located there which is shut now. “The boy hanged himself with the help of a nylon rope that was tied around the pole. After deceased was identified, we got to know from his family that he had not gone back home since Saturday afternoon,” said an officer of the Malabar Hill police station, who denied any possibility of foul play. His body has been sent to JJ Hospital for post-mortem.
