The Mumbai division of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) touched rock bottom in the results for the SSC supplementary exams, declared on Tuesday. While the overall pass percentage was 27.97 per cent across the nine divisions, the Mumbai division, which had the highest number of students enrolled for the exams, managed to secure 20.32 per cent. Meanwhile, the deputy director of education’s (DyDE’s) office has said that the FYJC online admission process for the 7,000 students who passed their supplementary exams will start in a couple of days.

As per statistics released by the MSBSHSE, 1,42,968 students had enrolled state-wide for the exam that was held in July. Of them, 39,994 students were successful, for an overall pass percentage of 27.97 per cent. This pass percentage, while better than last year, has dipped by 2.5 per cent compared to the 2014 supplementary exam results. The Nagpur division had the highest pass percentage (35.72).

Meanwhile, officials at the DyDE said that the 6,997 students who passed the supplementary exams would be able to apply for an FYJC seat by registering themselves on the online admission portal for FYJC from Tuesday evening itself.

“The third and last special round for FYJC online admissions will be held within a few days and the students can confirm their seats in the colleges they will be allotted. There are around 3,500 students from the previous rounds who are to be allotted seats,” said a DyDE official.
