The second merit list in the special round of FYJC online admissions saw around 22,700 students being allotted seats out of which around 10,000 students secured a seat in the college of their first preference. According to statistics released by the deputy directors of education’s office, 3,000 students are yet to be allotted a seat.
Following a high court order directing the government to conduct admissions to FYJC in a fair and transparent manner, the FYJC online admissions process made it mandatory for all students seeking admission to FYJC to register online. However, as nearly 6,000 students failed to register in the first phase of online admission held last month, the DYDE started a fresh round of online admissions. As a result, around 25,726 students applied afresh out of which 22,276 students were allotted seats.
With 9,910 students getting seats allotted in colleges of their first choice and 3,162 securing a seat in the second preferred college, colleges said that they are seeing seats being filled up. The 3,450 students who have not been allotted a seat can look forward to the third and final list that will be issued by August 29.
