An aspiring Bhojpuri singer gave actor Amitabh Bachchan and his family a few anxious moments when he entered their bungalow premises in the early hours on Monday. The intruder was later identified as a 23-year-old singer who scaled the wall of Mr Bachchan’s bungalow Jalsa only to make the actor listen to his original composition.

Police officials who confirmed the incident, revealed that the man was identified as Banwari Lal Yadav alias Bullet Yadav, who hails from Bihar. Senior police inspector Sunil Ghosalkar, Juhu police, said that the accused had entered the bungalow by climbing over the wall. “He chose a wall situated in the back where the security guards could not see him. The security guards are generally posted at the main gate and some are stationed inside,” said Mr Ghosalkar.

While Yadav successfully entered the bungalow grounds, he could not enter the bungalow as security personnel spotted him. “The security guards patrolling the bungalow spotted him lurking and managed to nab him before he could enter the house,” said Mr Ghosalkar.

Officials revealed that Yadav wanted Mr Bachchan to listen to a song he had composed. “The accused is a singer and had sung a few Bhojpuri songs. He is a fan of the actor and wanted to impress him by singing one of his own compositions. He also hoped to get a big break in Bollywood by doing this,” said an officer.

The officer added that Yadav might have come from Bihar only to meet with Mr Bachchan. “He told us he stays in Nehru Nagar, but we are verifying this,” said the officer.

Yadav, who was handed over to the Juhu police by the security guards, has been booked for trespassing under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. He was remanded to police custody till August 7 for the same.
