Former minister and MLA Chhagan Bhujbal’s woes are far from being over as BJP leaders are demanding a probe on his residence ‘Bhujbal farm’ in Nashik.
BJP MP Kirit Somaiya has claimed in Nashik that the price of Bhujbal’s farmhouse was '100 crores and the construction was paid for by the biggest highway developers of India, Ashoka Buildcon Ltd, a public listed company.
The company has over 28 public private partnership (PPP) projects. It is present across nine states in the country executing several projects for central and state governments.
Mr Somaiya held meetings with the Nashik police commissioner S. Jagannathan and other senior officials. He said that the present price of Bhujbal farm was Rs 100 crores. “The farm house has hot and cold swimming pools, luxury attachments and fixtures. Ashoka Buildcon paid Bhujbal Rs 40 crore to build the farmhouse,” Mr Somaiya said. The farmhouse is spread over 46,500 sq ft with 25 rooms and gyms.
Later the BJP MP, accompanied by senior BJP leaders, tried to survey the house but was stopped by the police. A few NCP activists gathered at the farmhouse and shouted slogans against Mr Somaiya. He also said that they had the documents to prove the worth of the house that have been given to the concerned agencies.
Ashoka Buildcon has built the Nashik Flyover, which begins near Bhujbal’s property.
