‘Pratyusha, Rahul were happy’

Family and friends of producer Rahul Raj Singh, boyfriend of actor Pratyusha Banerjee, who committed suicide, have submitted documents in the court to “prove” that Pratyusha and Rahul were on good terms. A close friend of Rahul while talking to The Asian Age, said, “We have arranged payment receipt for Power Couple show, where the couple worked together recently, and also, have attached a few pictures to inform the judiciary that the couple was happy together, and Rahul was spending good amount of money on Pratyusha.”

As per the payment receipt for the Power Couple show, Pratyusha kept '2.37 lakh with her, while Rahul kept only '10,000 with him. “It shows that Rahul was spending on her and he never used to take her money,” said one of Rahul’s friends.

According to Rahul’s friends, two days before her death Pratyusha had partied with Rahul in a hotel in Malad area, and on March 24, during a Holi party she told other actors she is happy with Rahul and enjoying her life. A night before her death, Rahul had brought one of his friends home and Pratyusha partied with them till 8.30 am on April 1.

Meanwhile, the police will oppose the anticipatory bail of Rahul in the high court. Officials plan to ask Rahul if a sucide note was seen at the spot, and what was the trigger for Pratyusha to kill herself. Sources said Rahul was in touch with Pratyusha on phone and officials want to know what they spoke minutes before the suicide.
