Pratyusha Banerjee suicide: Rahul to approach High Court for bail today

The bail plea of Rahul Raj Singh, late actor Pratyusha Banerjee’s boyfriend, will be tabled in the high court on Tuesday after which, police officials will decide about his arrest. Earlier, Rahul’s bail plea was rejected by the Dindoshi Session Court on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the actor is said to be recovering and can be shifted to a government hospital, said Dr Santosh Goyal of Shri Sai Hospital, Kandivali (east), where Rahul has been admitted since April 3. Dr Goyal further said, “Rahul is still being counseled by psychiatrists and he might get discharge in two days.”
Pratyusha was found dead in her Goregaon apartment on April 1 and later, her mother filed a case against Rahul for abetment of suicide. A police official from Bangur Nagar police station, who is investigating Pratyusha’s death, told The Asian Age that a total 17 statements had been taken and witnesses had informed that Rahul used to often beat Pratyusha for money. Pratyusha was very keen to marry Rahul but Rahul kept avoiding the matter, upsetting her and leading to several fights between them.
Police sources said Rahul has an Andheri court summons issued against him and the court has ordered him to appear before it on May 13 in a separate case of cheating. The summons have been issued against Rahul in a cheque-bouncing case. Earlier, Rahul had borrowed Rs 2.5 lakh from one of his female friends and later returned the amount vide cheque which bounced.
