Now check your land status online

Mumbaikars can now check the status of the land they are living on at just the click of a mouse.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made the Development Plan (DP) remarks of city plots available on its website. The DP remarks’ documents can also be availed online by paying Rs 2,000.

According to civic officials, there was no convenient system available to check the status of the plots for the common people while buying a house in the city.

For this, they had to make rounds of ward offices and wait for several days. But they can now avail these records easily with the help of the online system, the officials said.

“The BMC has made SRDP 1991 available on the municipal website. People can get details about the plot such as reservation, zone, buffer zone, among others, from this. We have made DP 1991 remarks available on the website. The remarks of DP 2034 will be made available from June 17,” said chief engineer Vinod Chithore, building proposal department.

In case of reservations, the details of both the DPs in terms of FSI (floor space index), which gives more benefit to people, will be considered while giving permission for development, Mr Chithore added.

The reservation of surrounding plots belonging to railway, airport, navy, among others, can be found out with this system.

The DP remarks will provide the details of a plot, including respective ward, area, reservation, zone, designation, DP road, existing road and additional remarks like buffer zone, among others.
