Obtaining ‘Non-Agriculture’ (NA) status for land under the Development Plan has been made easy across the state. This has been done under the ‘ease of doing business’ initiative of the state government, revenue minister Eknath Khadse said here on Wednesday.

“The state government has done away with the need to obtain permissions for changing the use of land to ‘non agricultural’ category for land covered under the Development Plan (DP) in December 2014. The implementation of the decision was facing some hurdles on the regional level. To do away with the hurdles the state government has come out with a government resolution (GR) that has guiding instructions in this regard,” Mr Khadse said.

“While applying for concessions in the NA certificate, people were confused over who to approach regarding decision on whether the land falls under class 1 or class 2. The new GR has made it mandatory for the officials to furnish the details of classification of land within 30 days of receiving the application and the land under class 1 category won’t need its status to be changed to NA,” Mr Khadse said. “In case where the land is classified as class 2, the applicant would still be able to get the no-objection certificate (NOC) from the district collector within 30 days by paying the fees prescribed under the rules,” he said.
