A special National Investigating Agency (NIA) court in Mumbai on Monday issued a production warrant against Mohsin Ibrahim Sayeed, who was arrested in Delhi for his alleged links with terrorist organisation ISIS.

The NIA had moved the application seeking issuance of a production warrant against Sayeed as it suspects that he was in touch with missing youths from Malwani in suburban Malad. These youths had last year allegedly left home to join ISIS.

According to agencies, Sayeed, along with Noor Mohammed, a carpenter and Wajid Shaikh, son of a vegetable shop owner had gone missing on December 15, 2015. It is alleged that they had decided to join ISIS after another youth from their area Ayaz Sultan had gone missing on October 30, last year. The Maharashtra ATS had claimed that Sultan had escaped to Syria via Afghanistan to join ISIS.

Sayeed, an auto driver from Malwani, went missing two months before his arrest by the Delhi police in February this year. The police claimed that the ISIS India chief had asked Sayeed to steal military vehicles that they could be used to carry out attacks on military installations. NIA wants his custody for further investigations.
