She said that she has no desire to earn money, which is why the police’s claim that she is running a drug racket is absurd. Her lawyers added that the police has not provided any evidence against her in the chargesheet filed.

Kulkarni said via a video link,” Every cause has an effect concealed in it and every effect has a cause revealed in it. Nowadays, since it is the Kalyug, the truth gets suppressed somewhere. I have become a yogini and given up everything. I have no desire for anything. Due to some pressure, the Thane police are hell-bent on implicating me, and that too without any proper evidence. They can implicate whoever they want, but not at the cost of my name and reputation, which is getting unnecessarily tarnished because of my proximity to a certain individual. The Thane cops used third-degree treatment against one Jay Mukhi and recorded his statement, which includes my name. I have nothing to hide. The cops have seen all the details related to me and they didn’t find any evidence against me.”

Her advocate, Majeed Memon, levelled allegations against the Thane police and said, “The Thane police has resorted to foul means in the investigation. Looking to sensationalise the case, they have coined a highly-exaggerated figure of a Rs 2,000 crore drug haul without any basis, substance or material on record.”

Thane police officials, on the other hand, said, “We have evidence that we have already submitted in the court. We don’t want to issue any clarifications to anyone about the same. The court will soon decide what is right and what is wrong.”
