The cyber cell of the Mumbai crime branch will be recording the statement of actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli on April 30. The legal counsel for the actress rubbished claims that she had not been present on Monday when the cops allegedly came knocking to record her statement.

“When the police had asked what date would be convenient for us, we told them that April 30 suited Kangana and Rangoli. They had also agreed on the same,” said Kangana’s advocate Rizwan Siddiquii. Mr Siddiquii alleged that the lawyers for Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan had created confusion over the date.

Previously, on March 5, Hrithik had filed an FIR alleging that an impostor had created a fake email id under his name and was also communicating with several of his fans and other celebrities using the same. While the FIR was first registered against an unknown person, the actor after some days added Kangana as a witness alleging that she had also been talking to the impostor via the id. The FIR also mentioned Rangoli. After a long drawn out battle on social networking site Twitter, Kangana issued a statement through her lawyer.

After the cyber cell issued a summons to Kangana, her lawyer replied to it with a notice claiming that issuing a summons to a witness was illegal and further asked the police officers to seek a date comfortable for the actress so as to record her statement. Sources claim that the cyber cell and the actress had agreed upon April 18 as the date and when the officials visited the actress in her house, she was allegedly not present.
