Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has asked all the departments to prepare their report cards, as the BJP-led government will soon complete two years in office. He has instructed the departments to give emphasis on execution of the decisions taken earlier rather than making new announcements.

The government has popularised a few schemes like Jalyukta Shivar, affordable housing for all schemes. The chief minister wants every department to come up with similar a popular scheme to showcase it as an achievement in two years’ period, sources said.

“We have been compiling various decisions and checking its execution status, as the chief minister has told us. He has said, ‘Give more emphasis on the execution of the announcements rather than making new,’” an official from Mantralaya said. The department secretaries are busy in preparing a report card of their respective departments.

On Friday, Mr Fadnavis reviewed works done by the health department and gave lot of instructions on improvement of a few schemes, an official from the department said.

The government’s recent decision to change the name of Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayi Scheme was severely criticised.

Aiming to fulfil the the Skill India campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Fadnavis has told the officials from the department concerned that the

Pramod Mahajan Skill Development Scheme should be popularised.

“We are focussing on improving institutes that give training for skill development. It has lot of potential to provide our youths with skills to get them better jobs,” an official from the department said.

The BJP-led alliance government will complete two years in office this October.

The government has come under fire after its ministers were charged with corruption and in connection with land grab cases. Sources in the BJP said the CM does not want the party’s image to be hampered because of the charges and hence wants to focus on the achievements of the government.
