Cops trace Gadoli’s girlfriend to Haryana

A team of the Mumbai police has managed to trace and nab slain gangster Sandeep Gadoli’s alleged girlfriend Divya Pajuha and her mother Sonia. Divya is said to be a key witness in the case, which has led to the arrest of three Gurugram police personnel who allegedly followed Gadoli to a city hotel, gunned him down and then staged a fake encounter to cover up the incident.

Divya and Sonia were allegedly traced to their Haryana residence and will be brought to Mumbai on Friday. Officers of the Special Investigation Team who are investigating the case are accompanying her.

“Divya and Sonia were found in Haryana and we have taken them in for interrogation. Once the procedures are completed with the local police there, we will bring them to Mumbai,” said a senior Mumbai police officer. He added that they were yet to be placed under arrest. “We will question them first once they are brought to the city and then arrest them depending on the investigation,” he said.

Divya, who is said to have been Gadoli’s girlfriend, was travelling with him and it is also believed she stayed with him in the hotel where the encounter was staged. When she was questioned earlier, she gave evasive answers and is said to have informed officials that while she was in the same room, she was in the bathroom when she heard gunshots and locked herself inside.

Sources inform officials suspect that Divya informed the Gurugram policemen about Gadoli and her travel plans with him. “She was in touch with her mother too. Hence we have brought her in too for questioning,” said the officer. Divya also allegedly kept updating her social media account to inform the policemen about where they were headed and also where they were staying.

Gadoli was allegedly gunned down by six Gurugram crime branch officials in a local hotel in Mumbai.
