The Navi Mumbai police is still clueless about the culprits who robbed a gold-finance firm of gold worth Rs 6 crore. Unable to get any details from the accused that have been arrested earlier, police officials are suspecting the involvement of an international gang in the case.

The Navi Mumbai police has grown tired of paying its informers (khabris) to get information about the robbers. A Navi Mumbai police official said on anonymity, “Through our findings we came to know that the accused are repeat offenders and they have done big robberies in Mumbai. We are finding details about the group.”

Another source said, “The Navi Mumbai police has paid a lot of money to different khabris to get details about the robbers and nothing has come of it till now.”

Five men made away with 23 kg of gold worth around Rs 6 crore from a gold finance office in Navi Mumbai on August 6.

According to police officials, around at 3.30 pm on August 6, five accused wearing handkerchief masks on their faces entered the office of Popular Gold Finance company, situated opposite Seawood station. The accused entered the office and threatened everyone by showing guns and swords. After robbing around 23 kg gold and Rs 9 lakh in cash, the accused broke the Digital Video Recorder in the bank. They took all the video footage from the place, and left in a Swift.
