The Bandra-Kurla Complex police has lodged a first information report against the CEO and is investigating the matter. The CEO’s statement is yet to be recorded.
According to the police, the complainant has been working for the bank for the past five years. She approached the police late on Saturday evening after her seniors allegedly failed to address her complaint. The CEO, who has been accused of molestation, is a 40-year-old man.
In her complaint, the woman she had been working for the bank for a long time and the CEO had been allegedly misbehaving with her for the past one and half year. Whenever he used to meet her, he would allegedly make lewd gestures and talk about things of an intimate nature, which hurt her feelings. For the past few months the messages that she was receiving from him were also insulting and obscene and he tried to touch her inappropriately on many occasions, she claimed.
The complainant decided to complain to her seniors, but they allegedly did not pay much attention to it.
Finally, a few days back when the CEO had allegedly touched her private parts, the woman decided to file an FIR against him. Following this, she approached the police.
Speaking about the complaint filed by the woman, senior police inspector, BKC police station, Kundal Nigade said, “According to the complaint, an FIR has been lodged against the CEO of the bank under Sections 354A (sexual harassment), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The statement of the women employee was recorded on Saturday. We have not yet arrested the CEO in the case. We will record his statement. A probe is underway.”
