While giving permission, the court directed the state to restore Shivaji Park within a week after Anant Chaturdashi as it was before. The HC also specified that Shivaji Park is Silence Zone, and said appropriate measures must be taken to control noise pollution while parking the vehicles.
On Thursday, deputy secretary of urban development department S.S. Gokhale filed an affidavit, in which he assured the court a committee would be appointed within a week and it would file its report within two months. The committee will talk about alternate parking place for vehicles during Ganesh immersion.
