The Bombay high court has directed the state government to frame rules within three months to curb noise pollution arising out of vehicular movement and construction activity in the state.

The court also directed the state to comply with the central government notification that demonstrated how to bring down helicopter sound.

The division bench of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice A.A. Sayed was dictating the order on noise pollution. The PILs included those on noise during festival seasons. Some PILs demanded action against noise created by vehicles, generator, and helicopters.

While dictating a comprehensive order, the HC directed the state government and municipal authorities to follow interim direction given by the court from time to time, while framing the rules.
