4-year-old missing girl found dead

A four-year-old girl was raped and murdered by an unknown accused in Mankhurd on Monday morning. The girl had been missing since Sunday night was found dead on Monday morning. The Mankhurd police registered a case and started a search for the accused.

According to the police, the victim, who used to stay with her parents in Mankhurd, went missing at around 10.30 pm. Her mother told the police that they had a small chaat business. The mother used to take the girl to the stall. The girl would play with other children near the stall.

On Sunday, after the stall was closed at around 10.30 pm, the mother started looking for the girl. Her parents put together a search party of family members and friends to look for the girl.

The police said, “The family came to us at around 1 am when they could not find her for more than two hours. We registered a kidnapping case against an unknown person and sent out a wireless alert with her description to all police stations in Mumbai and nearby cities. At around 9 am on Monday, the police control room received a call informing them about the dead body of a child. The body was found at a construction site near the victim’s residence. She also has many injuries on her body.”

“We went to the spot and saw the body of a small girl child. Her parents have identified her body. Based on the injuries on her body, a rape case under the IPC and POCSO Act has been registered against an unknown person. During panchnama, we found piece of cloth around the construction site that was stuffed into the girl’s mouth,” said senior police inspector Nasir Ahmed Sheikh from Mankhurd police station.
