The joint operation of the Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad (ATS) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) of cracking down on ISIS recruiters and their aides continued on Saturday with two more arrests, one from Aurangabad and another from Uttar Pradesh. A total of four from the ISIS module have been arrested, including one from Mazgaon in Mumbai on Friday evening. All the three accused are connected to 33-year-old Mudabbir Shaikh arrested from Mumbra in the early hours on Friday. Shaikh was allegedly in touch with an ISIS handler from another country. Shaikh, through Facebook and WhatsApp, was also in touch with the other arrested youths. He is said to be a big recruiter for the ISIS who was in touch with several people across India and the number of people he was in touch with cannot be quantified. Shaikh’s work was to find potential youths who could be sent to fight for ISIS.
