The Mumbai crime branch units managed to solve two kidnapping cases involving minor boys in two different parts of the city, within 24 hours. While the first kidnapping case was in Kandivali area, the second case was in Ghatkopar –Vikroli area.

In the first incident, a case of kidnapping of a four-year-old boy was registered on Tuesday at Kandivali police station against an unknown person. A few hours after the complaint, crime branch unit 11 arrested one Surendra Kumar alias Rakesh Shivadhar Vishwakarma. The police found the kidnapped boy with him who was later handed over to his parents. According to the officials, Vishwakarma hails from Uttar Pradesh, and he had planned to escape to UP after receiving a ransom amount.
However, the accused never got the opportunity to make a ransom call as he was arrested hours after the abduction.
