Twins Atharva and Sakshi Tagde

MUMBAI: Twins Atharva and Sakshi Tadge from Panvel’s St. Joseph’s High School on Tuesday gave their parents and school a double reason to celebrate by scoring 93 per cent and 87.2 per cent respectively in their CBSC Class 10 examination. The twins, who were born just two minutes apart, studied together in the run up to the examination.

According to their parents, the twins understand each other’s academic strengths and weaknesses and accordingly help each other out. “Sakshi is kind of weak in Mathematics, which I find easy, so I tend to help her out in that subject. Likewise, I am not that great with languages and Sakshi finds it very easy. so she helps me in those subjects. This is how we have been doing it since a long time,” said 16-year-old Atharva.

Though they are twins, their dreams of the future are very different.  While Atharva wants to opt for the science stream and enroll in IIT-Bombay to pursue mechanical engineering, Sakshi wants to pursue arts. “I want to go for arts and work in the government offices of our country. I would like to prepare for the UPSE civil service examination,” said Sakshi, who was not at all nervous or worried before and during the examinations.

On their part, their parents tried to maintain a peaceful and stress free environment at home. “We use to go out, the entire family and have fun and spend time together so that there was no stress on their heads and they could study and appear for the exams without any tension,” said Somnath Tadge, their father.
