Suicide victim dies, family donates eyes

The JJ Marg police is probing the incident and has registered an Accidental Death Report so far.

The police said that prima facie it looked like a case of suicide.

Mumbai: The 29-year-old male MBBS intern with the state-run JJ Hospital, who jumped from the third  floor of the campus hostel he was staying in on Friday, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.

With the consent of his family and relatives, his eyes were donated to the eye bank, said the hospital’s superintendent Dr Sanjay Surase.

The deceased medico, Dr Triratna Wathore, was receiving psychiatric treatment for depression.

Wathore had suffered severe head injuries and leg fractures and was admitted to the hospital’s critical care unit. Doctors declared him dead on Sunday at 1 pm and his eyes were donated.
