‘90% eligible for scheme’

According to the Maharashtra health department, the ABPMJAY scheme has been launched in medical colleges and hospitals run in the state.

Mumbai: Around 90 per cent of the population of Maharashtra will be eligible for the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (ABPMJAY) scheme, governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao said on Sunday while launching it in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ambitious healthcare scheme in Jharkhand on Sunday. It was simultaneously launched in other parts of the country. As many as 83.71 lakh families in Maharas-htra, accounting for 90 per cent of the population, will benefit from it, Mr Rao said.

According to the Maharashtra health department, the ABPMJAY scheme has been launched in medical colleges and hospitals run in the state.
