Mumbai: In an attempt to expedite the process of getting an Occupation Certificate (OC) for Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) schemes, the authority has developed a mobile app called 'AutoDCR,' which citizens can use to apply for OC, thus avoiding the otherwise long and time-consuming procedure. The trial for this app will be conducted next month after which it will be available for Mumbaikars to use.

The slum dwellers, who are rehabilitated in SRA schemes, often face difficulties as developers fail to procure complete OC for the buildings. This affects the supply of basic amenities, like water to these buildings.

“We have developed a software, through which citizens can now apply for OC. The application, which is called ‘AutoDCR,’ is in its last stages and will go through trials next month. Citizens would need to scan the necessary documents and upload them on the website,” said a senior SRA official.

He added, “Once the applications start coming in, we will divert them to the sub-engineers on a priority basis.”

Mr Deepak Kapoor, chief executive officer of SRA, has launched a campaign to speed up the OC granting process for these societies.
