Major megablock to be operated today

The slow services at the Central Railway (CR) will be diverted to the fast line for a period of eight hours on Sunday.

Mumbai: A  megablock will be operated on all three lines on Sunday as the Railways want to carry out maintenance work on tracks, signalling and overhead equipment. Jumboblock will be witnessed from 11 am to 3 pm between Borivali and Bhayander stations UP services. The slow services at the Central Railway (CR) will be diverted to the fast line for a period of eight hours on Sunday. 

In addition to this, a special block will be operated on the Harbour Line/Transharbour line at Nerul for yard remodelling and commissioning of new route relay interlocking system, in order to deal with signals. The block will be operated on Up and Down harbour lines between Vashi and Belapur stations and Up and Down Transharbour lines between Turbhe and Nerul stations. The block will be operated from 10 am to 6 pm. According to the railway officials, special suburban services will be run between CSMT and Vashi, Panvel and Belapur during the block period. Additionally a block will be carried out at Kalyan-Thane Up slow line services  between 11.20 am and 4.20 pm.
