Three die in accident as car tyre bursts

Nashik: Three persons, including a minor girl, were killed after their car’s tyre burst and the vehicle dashed against a tree, near Brahmangaon village, off Satana—Malegaon Road in Satana tehsil of Nashik on Sunday morning.

The deceased were heading to Deola tehsil from Brahmangaon village in Satana tehsil. The accident occurred at around 12.40 pm on Sunday and the victims died instantly.

The names of the deceased were given as Vijay Govind Jadhav (62), resident of Satmane village in Malegaon tehsil, Ramrao Waman Aher (62) of Deola tehsil and Gauri Gorakh Nikam (13) of Aghar Budruk Dhaveshwar village in Satana.

API Nitin Magar said that the tyre burst due to high atmospheric temperature in Satana area. “Farmer Ramrao Aher was driving and could not control the vehicle, which dashed against the tree”, he said.

Villagers from the area converged and managed to extricate the occupants of the vehicle, while calling the police, which arrived promptly and helped rush them to a hospital. However, they were declared dead on arrival.

Farmer Ramrao Aher and Dr Vijay Jadhav were the maternal and paternal grandparents of Gauri Nikam and were taking her for summer holidays to Aher’s house in Deola.

Speaking of the tragedy, Shiv Sangram’s state-president Udaykumar Aher, who is a relative of Ramrao, said that the deceased had retired as headmaster of a school in Kanashi since last 4 years. He was Gauri’s maternal grandfather.

The police said that their bodies were sent for autopsy to Satana Rural Hospital and were later handed to their relatives for cremation. Mr Magar said that further investigation is underway.
