Call made from UK to Indrani’s mobile: Defence

Mumbai: Peter Mukerjea’s lawyer Wednesday argued before the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court that the phone call relied upon by the prosecution to claim that Peter was part of the conspiracy to kill Sheena Bora was made from a landline in the UK to Indrani’s mobile phone. Hence, it could not be said that Peter had made this call as Indrani’s daughter Vidhi was also residing in the United Kingdom (UK) with Peter and she, too, could have made the call.

Further, Peter would not know in the UK whether Indrani had found someplace to dispose of Sheena’s body and call exactly at that time.

Senior lawyer Shrikant Shivde Wednesday contended before special Central Bureau of Investigation Judge J.C. Jagdale that the prosecution claimed that Indrani was conducting a recce to find a secluded place to dispose of Sheena’s body and upon finding a suitable spot, informed Peter about the same from that spot itself.
