Shiv Sena’s Anant Geete meets with mishap

Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader and Union minister for heavy industries and public sector enterprises Anant Geete’s vehicle met with a road accident on Friday afternoon near Pali in Konkan area, while he was travelling from Khopoli to Pali. Mr Geete luckily escaped unhurt in the accident while his personal security officer (PSO) sustained minor injuries.

According to the police sources, the accident occurred at 12.30 pm when a speeding motorcycle came in front of the minister’s convoy, following which the driver of the car applied immediate breaks. This led to Mr Geete’s car ramming into the first car, and the car following hit them from behind. As a result, the three cars rammed into each other, and some parts of the vehicles were damaged. Luckily, there were no casualties in the accident, and the minister only sustained a minor injury on the forehead.

Anil Paraskar, superintendent of Police Alibag-Raigad told this paper, “Mr Geete is fine, and has resumed his journey. He had taken a halt at a rest house till the new vehicles were arranged, and has departed for his scheduled events.”

Mr Geete’s PSO, who was accompanying the minister sustained injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital for further treatment.
