MUMBAI: The Bombay high court has directed the commissioner of Common Entrance Test (CET), Mumbai to consider the application form of a meritorious student, who is also a daughter of defence personnel, for the course of MBBS.

The girl belongs to Lucknow and her father is currently posted in Pune. She cleared NEET examination and wanted to take admission for  MBBS course in Maharashtra but while filling up forms she wrongly selected colleges where only nursing courses are taught.

Subsequently, the girl approached the high court, which directed the commissioner of CET to consider her form for MBBS course.

Petitioner’s advocate S.M. Gorwadkar  submitted that a small mistake should not cost the petitioner so  much so as to compel her to opt for a nursing course when she aimed for a MBBS course and had strived hard to secure a merit position in the entrance examination. He also submitted that authorities should have given option to rectify mistakes made online.
