Serial offender arrested for illegal sale of arms

Mumbai: Acting on a tip-off, Thane’s anti-extortion cell has arrested Rafiq Shaikh (23) for allegedly selling pistols and live rounds illegally in Thane. The police has seized six pistols and 15 live rounds from Shaikh.

Officers of the anti-extortion cell received intelligence that a person would be arriving near Chendani Koliwada, Thane, with an intent to sell illegal arms. Acting on this information, a team was formed led by Pradeep Sharma, and Shaikh was intercepted. Six unregistered pistols and 15 live rounds were found in his possession.
